Mary Jo Hazard
Mary Jo handles client relations and events at Hazard Financial. She believes strong client relationships are built through consistent communication, education, and genuine recognition. Drawing on her background as a Marriage and Family Therapist, she connects with clients, helping them feel understood and supported as they work toward their financial goals. She also established the firm’s Client Appreciation Dinner more than twenty years ago to further that goal.
Mary Jo has a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and an M.A. in Family Systems from the California Family Study Center. A retired licensed therapist, she has served as an American Red Cross disaster mental health volunteer and as a past President of Rainbow Services, a domestic violence nonprofit in San Pedro, CA.
She is also a Peninsula News contributor and author. Her books include The Peacocks of Palos Verdes, Palo’s World, P is for Palos Verdes, and Stillwater. Mary Jo loves working in the family business alongside her husband, daughters, and the Hazard Financial team, and takes special pride in seeing clients thrive and refer others to the firm.
